From Our Beehives to Your Home
At this time of year we feel ever so grateful for having so many wonderful Beechworth Honey fans, fanatics, supporters and friends. Thank you for visiting us in Beechworth. Thank you for seeking us out in your local supermarket. Thank you for following us on socials and for sharing what we do with your friends and family. Without all of you it would not be possible to do what we do or make the differences we do.
Thank you for choosing our 100% Australian honey throughout the year and for being passionate supporters of doing the right thing! Your choices make a massive difference to our hardworking Australian beekeepers, the dedicated stewards caring for bees across the country. Honeybees will be responsible for one in three mouthfuls of the food we enjoy over Christmas and throughout the year. Your support of our Australian honey keeps beekeepers in business and bees doing their miraculous work; creating food, healthy ecosystems, clean air, soil and water as they go about producing honey for us.
As beekeepers ourselves, we work hard throughout the year to share our love and joy for bees and the amazing products they produce. We try to honour the work of nature and all our Australian beekeeping families by making our products, our packaging, and our messages as beautiful as we can.
At this time of year, our amazing Beechworth Honey family (that’s what we call our team!) is in full flight. They’re multitasking, juggling, and hustling to get all our final orders out before a tiny short break and coming back to do it all again. We could not do what we do without this group of incredible people. They make everything happen behind the scenes and together we make it fun!
Our bees don’t take any notice of the festive season. Even on Christmas Day they start at sunup and work through til sundown making the most of every available flower and every available hour of sunlight. We will be out and about amongst the bees over the holiday days tending to their needs and making sure they’re in the best locations to produce delicious honey and honeycomb for us. That’s what beekeepers across the country do every festive season!
Our team in our Beechworth store is also busy over the festive season. We all look forward to welcoming the influx of visitors who make the trip to beautiful Beechworth in the summer. I love to spend time at the store talking to regular customers and getting to know new customers. It’s always a highlight to see families and friends absolutely captivated by the diversity of Australian honey and the wonder of bees. I never tire of watching our visitors totally tuned in to watch the bees in our working hive in-store. Seeing bees laden with pollen on their legs coming in and out of the hive is very grounding. It can transport you to a quieter pace, and remove you from the hustle and bustle of the busy Christmas period.
Our family Christmas is always very relaxed. Our close little family clusters at home in Beechworth. We retreat for the day (it’s the one day of the year when our business truly closes!) and keep things pretty simple. Good food, love and laughter, rest and relaxation. One of our traditions is usually a little drive out in the forest somewhere close, to check on some trees. Even on Christmas day, the talk is about what the bees will be up to next, what prospects lie ahead and what the thoughts are about what will and won’t flower and what honey will or won’t be produced in the year ahead. I guess that’s what happens in a family that really does love what we do.
Here’s wishing you all the very best for a Christmas filled with peace, love and happiness, talking about the things that bring you joy with your special people. If you’re venturing to Beechworth we look forward to seeing you. Stay safe, stay happy and here’s to a fun-filled 2025 ahead and again thank you for helping us spread honey happiness this festive season!
Wishing you and yours the sweetest festive season ahead.
